Personal Goals, Make The Journey Count!

I’m constantly amazed by the sheer determination demonstrated by my clients to achieve their own personal goals.

They’re all different of course, some want to lose five stone in weight others five pounds. There are those who want me to help them train for a marathon and those who want me to help them run to the end of the road and back.

It doesn’t matter of course what your personal goals are, it’s the journey you take to get there and for the majority of my clients that journey is a dedicated and committed one.

Take for example Mike Ransom, who I have been working with for the last seven months.personal goals

His personal goals were like no other. He came to me after undergoing lifesaving brain surgery to prevent him from having severe epileptic fits.

At his worse Mike was having seizures every five minutes and ended up bed bound for many months because it was the safest place for him to be.

Whilst successful, the operation unfortunately left him without the use of his right arm. Mike’s speech was affected and so was his core mobility meaning that he could not even stand up.

So, my job of course, was to help Mike get back on his feet.

As with all clients, I designed a bespoke training plan, and I set about working with Mike on a weekly basis.

We have been using a combination of gentle exercises to help strengthen his core muscles and regain use of his arm.

Mike will be the first to admit that it’s been slow progress but I for one have been amazed by the sheer grit and determination he has shown to exercise his way back to fitness.

His remarkably positive attitude has kept him focused in every training session and despite tiring easily Mike has always remained committed to his personal goals.

personal goalsI’m so pleased to be able to report that as a result of his dedication Mike recently got  back on his feet walking and for the first time ever I even had him in a pair of boxing gloves.

He’s not quite ready for the ring but I’m working on that.

Mike is a true inspiration and living proof that a ‘Can-do’ attitude can help change your life.

As with all my clients I feel extremely humbled to be a part of his incredible journey.

Well done Mike.
